About

ANNUSCH was founded in 2014 by artist Johanna Braeunlich, with ceramics and drawing as her main fields of expertise. Born in Germany, she lives and works in the Netherlands. ANNUSCH is her artist pseudonym.

Since 1994 Johanna Braeunlich has been working with ceramics. She studied art and ceramics at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, Germany, and obtained her bachelor in Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. For many years she worked as a professional ceramist in Germany, Nepal and India. Since 2008 she has been working at her own studio in Almere, the Netherlands, doing free and commissioned work.

Keramikfachschule Landshut, diploma attained in June 1998.

Manufacturing stoneware, wood-fired at 1250°C with reduction technique.

Manufacturing earthenware, fired at 1040°C (Kerosene).
Developing new ceramic products, glazes and decorations.                              
Thriving to improve the quality of the tableware by increasing     
the firing temperature from 1040°C to 1080°C by developing a 
new type of clay suitable for higher firing temperatures.    
This project was supported by a scholarship from Carl Duisberg
Society (Germany).
