Creating an Artwork together

Are you looking for a joyful and creative event for your company party or company outing?  During this special ceramic workshop, your company staff and colleagues will create a large-scale, 2-dimensional ceramic artwork, in a playful and connecting manner and in a creative atmosphere at the location of your choice. After some weeks the fired and glazed artwork is given a place in your company. The arrival of the artwork at the company is often combined with a staff meeting, during which the artwork can be ceremoniously unveiled.

One-day ceramic workshop for large and small groups: Creating an artwork for your company together

We offer our workshops in two different formats:

  1. As a unique event for company parties, fairs and congresses (for larger groups, between 14 and 100 participants and more) …as an example, check out my two-dimensional artwork Tree Of Life
  2. As a creative company outing at atelier ANNUSCH (for small groups up to 14 participants) …see also my course One-day pottery throwing and modelling workshop

No previous experience is required for this course.

By the way: clay stains in clothing can be removed easily with a damp cloth or in the wash. During the workshop, sufficient aprons are available for the participants to use.

What does the workshop include?

  • Choosing the shape and design of the artwork based on your company logo
  • The joint decoration and elaboration of the artwork in collaboration with your staff and colleagues
  • The fired and glazed artwork as a lasting memento for your company (ceremonial unveiling four to six weeks after the workshop in the presence of your staff)

How is it organized?

In advance, you get the opportunity to choose the appropriate basic shape and design of the artwork as well as the colours from ANNUSCH’s wide range of homemade, high fired stoneware glazes. At the agreed time, the selected artwork, bare and unfired, will be ready to be decorated by your staff and colleagues during this unique happening. As part of the artwork, each participant adorns their own unfired, malleable clay tile according to their own ideas under the guidance of ceramic artist Johanna Braeunlich.

There are many possibilities for choosing a theme for the artwork and we are happy to help you choose a design. As an example, the design of the artwork could be inspired by your company logo. The company logo is symbolic of the company, which is distinguished and animated by the commitment and cooperation of its staff.
In consultation with the client we formulate a modelling briefing, tailored to the organisation and nature of the event. For example: Everyone is encouraged to model their own interpretation for their function in the organisation, or a wish for the company in the form of a symbol. Like this, every clay tile and each part of the artwork can be personalised by the participants according to their own views. Towards the end of the workshop, all the creations are put together again and the artwork is presented in its original and unfired state.

Later on, ANNUSCH fires and glazes all parts of the artwork in her studio. Afterwards, the tiles are reassembled and fixed to a base, making it easy to attach the artwork to a wall.
For an additional charge, the artwork may also be incorporated into the floor of your company’s entrance area.

Four to six weeks after the workshop, the artwork is officially unveiled in your company in the presence of the staff, and everyone can admire the newly created “mandala”, as a lasting memory of the event.

The idea of creating the company’s own corporate mandala during social events was inspired by ANNUSCH’s stay as a ceramic teacher in India and Nepal between 1998 and 1999. In some parts of India, people paint colourful mandalas in front of the entrances to their homes. According to Eastern wisdom, mandalas provide inspiration and inner enrichment. A mandala is a symbol of the forces that flow together, where everything begins and where everything is connected. As a colourful artwork in your reception area, it is a memento for your staff and simultaneously a very special welcome to every guest who enters the company.

How do I book and how is the structure of the event?

1.) BOOK: – as a unique event for company parties, fairs and congresses (for larger groups, between 14 and 100 participants and more)
The workshop can take place in various ways:

  • Open walk-in: during the entire event, participants can join in and creatively design their own unfired clay tile as a personal part of the artwork.
  • Teambuilding as a shared creative moment in a private group at a table: during a creative session with your employees in a pleasant get-together, a collaborative artwork is created as a souvenir of your company party.
The workshop starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m., unless otherwise agreed. The price includes instruction, all materials and use of tools, firing and glazing of the resulting artwork including the placement and official unveiling at your company.
