Fish Bowl

Only God creates. The rest of us only copy.

Michelangelo

Blue and white is classic and somehow always beautiful.
For this fish decoration, the main thing is to draw the fishes on the glaze with a few skilful and deliberate brush strokes. This has to be done quite quickly, and you can’t improve anything afterwards – so it has to go well all at once.

I work with dark blue Majolica glaze on my light Craquelé glaze, which I also use for many other works. I often use photos of fish in nature as models.
The fish turn out differently every time, and because you can hardly see them directly after glazing and the dark and light blue shades only come out after firing at 1240°C, the result is a surprise every time, even for me.
