Green Ocean Bowl
The artist vocation is to send light into the human heart.

The vibrancy and depth of my Green Ocean Bowls comes from having two different glazes applied on top of each other.
Applying two glazes on top of each other is a well-known technique in Japanese ceramics, which produces beautiful results, especially in reduction firing.
When applying the two glazes for a Green Ocean Bowl, I achieve the best results when the bowl is fired in the kiln a total of three times.
After the biscuit firing at 980 °C, the first glaze firing at 1240 °C follows. Only then is the second glaze applied, whose recipe I sometimes enrich in advance with about 10% rye flour, so that the glaze does not run off on the smooth surface of the already fired bowl. Before firing the bowl a second time at 1240°C, I let it dry thoroughly.
Unloading the kiln is always exciting: due to the uncontrollable aspects of the fire, the results are always slightly different and sometimes unexpectedly surprising.
