Primary Water Fountains
The greatest gift you can give to the world is your own inner peace.
Eckhart Tolle
A few years ago, an acquaintance commissioned me to design an indoor fountain for his martial arts school in Cologne, where yoga, meditation and mindfulness were taught alongside various Asian martial arts.
Everyone knows the meditative and calming effect of the sound of gently flowing and quietly rippling water, and I was very excited to incorporate something so beautiful and alive into my designs.
As so often, I took nature as an example and in this case the theme of the sea, stones and shells, as I was an avid shell collector as a child and am fascinated by their versatile shapes.
Stones and shells are most beautiful when wet on the beach or below the surface of the sea, as the water makes them shine and bring them to life.
This is similar in ceramics – especially with matt glazes, which can look very different under the surface of the water than when dry.
Therefore, I tried to design my fountains so that the water flows over as much of the surface of the shape of the fountain itself as possible, before disappearing into the shape and being pumped back up from there. This resulted in the fountain Balance as well as the indoor fountains Sea Shell and Inside Out.
I made the stand for the Inside Out fountain from multiplex, but now there are also beautiful, hand-forged holders made of black iron, which are even more stable and can be easily attached to the wall using two screws and dowels.
I have dedicated the design of my fountains to what is called Primary Water, to refer to very fascinating new research and findings that prove the existence of vast amounts of water trapped far below the earth’s surface.
Description of Primary Water (PW)
Primary Water (PW) refers to renewable unconventional groundwater resources available worldwide, regardless of geology or climate, that has been identified by deep-earth seismologists, mineralogists and astrobiologists.
Primary Water is earth-generated water. Under the right conditions, oxygen combines with hydrogen to make new water. This water is being pushed up under great pressure from deep within the Earth. It finds its way towards the earth’s surface where there are fissures or faults. Depending on the geology, PW may be close to the surface or even flow out as a spring. PW is new water that has never been a part of the hydrological cycle until it finally reaches at the surface. “Besides rain, there is another kind of water by which the interior of the earth is soaked, so that being heated it can continually give off halitus [water vapor], from which arises a great and abundant flow of waters.” Georgius Agricola – De Re Metallica (1556) https://www.primarywatertechnologies.com/
