Decorate Your Own Bowl
This teatime ceramic workshop is an ideal opportunity to both relax and be creative in a private sphere together in close, familiar company with colleagues, friends or family.

For this course no experience is necessary.
ANNUSCH’s beautiful and unique studio can accommodate up to 14 participants per workshop. In nice weather, work can also be done outside on our beautiful roof terrace, overlooking both the beach and the centre of Almere Haven.
What does the workshop include?
- Welcome with coffee, tea and homemade cake
- A short demonstration on the potter’s wheel showing how your cup or bowl has been made
- Decorate your own (hand thrown) mug or bowl with special ceramic wax chalk and ANNUSCH’s homemade porcelain slip, available in a wide range of colours
- Your own masterpiece fired and glazed (which you receive about two weeks later)
How is the workshop structured?
The workshop starts at 2 pm and finishes at 5 pm, unless otherwise previously agreed on. The price includes tuition, all materials and the use of tools and equipment, the glazing and firing of the bowls or mugs, as well as homemade cake, coffee and tea.
After a warm welcome with coffee, tea and homemade cake, you have the opportunity to get a short demonstration on the potter’s wheel, which can give you a vivid impression of how the shape of your mug or bowl has been created.
Afterwards in beautiful, warm weather, we gather around a large table on the roof terrace and learn the technique of decorating your own mug or bowl with the help of special ceramic wax crayons and ANNUSCH’s homemade porcelain slip according to your own wishes and in your own favourite colours.
ANNUSCH’s selfmade porcelain slip is available in a large range of colours from cherry-red to Delft-blue. Stencils as well as many examples with different patterns and ideas for decoration are available for inspiration and orientation.
If it is cool and rainy, we will work in the studio, where there is plenty of space at the table and at the several potter’s wheels.
The main aim of this workshop for your colleagues, friends or relatives is to meet in an informal, cheerful atmosphere and be creative together in a simple, playful way. It’s a cosy get-together with plenty of time and space for chatting and exchange.
The self-decorated bowls remain in the studio at the end, because before your employees, friends or family members take them home as a souvenir, they are glazed with a glossy, transparent glaze and fired again, this time at a high temperature.
Before the second firing, the bowls are given various subtle colour nuances here and there with majolica glazes with the help of the spray booth, which makes them particularly beautiful and lively after firing. Approximately two weeks after the workshop, everyone will receive their own bowl to take home as a lasting memento of an unforgettable day at a special place in an inspiring environment.
What does the event cost?
The costs for this unique workshop including the self-decorated mugs or bowls is around € 2.000, – excl. VAT, depending on your personal wishes and the number of participants. Please contact me for more information about the different possibilities and available dates.
